Marilyn Monroe Favorites
Marilyn Monroe was a passionate woman influenced and inspired by great
actors, actresses, composers etc. She became the star she was as a result
of what inspired her. Marilyn Monroe posters have stayed in the top ten
of most wanted throughout the twentieth century and have not seem to have
lost their appeal.
Inspirations
Her earliest inspiration first came from actress Jean
Harlow, superstar of the twenties. She dreamed of being like her and
always knew her path in life would be on screen. Some other actors and
actresses she admired included greats such as Greta Garbo, Ginger Rogers,
Joan Crawford, Marlon Brando,
Clark Gable, Will Rogers, Cary Grant, and Richard Widmark.
 She loved
to sing and did so in many of her movies. She enjoyed music favouring
artists like Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra in particular. Marilyn
Monroe posters that featured her in the movie "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes"
are very popular as people remember her for her rendition of "Diamonds
Are a Girl's Best Friend". Other favourite songs from this film included
"Bye Bye Baby" and "When Love Goes Wrong" sang with
Jane Russell. She was her own worst critic favouring herself in films
such as "The Asphalt Jungle" and "Don't Bother to Knock".
She loved poetry especially the works of John
Keats and Walt Whitman
and favoured the works from playwrights such as Arthur
Miller and Tennessee
Williams. All in all she appreciated film and was tremendously thrilled
to have been a part of it.
