She continued making films such as "Let's Make Love" and "The Misfits" despite an unhappy marriage and the depression that seemed to be consuming her. She began seeing a psychoanalyst for her problems and soon after in 1961 ended another unsuccessful marriage.

In 1962 she began production on "Something's Got to Give." She began seeing Joe DiMaggio again and before long they set a wedding date for August 8, 1962. She would never have the chance to see if love would last this time due to her untimely death on August 5, 1962.
